Courtesy Pay is a non-contractual service that adds a measure of protection to your personal checking account. Courtesy Pay may cover your insufficient funds checks, up to a limit of $500, including the amount of the overdrawn item(s) and fee(s). That means, instead of returning a check to the merchant because of insufficient funds, the credit union may pay your check, saving you additional charges from the merchant collection companies, in addition to the credit union’s insufficient fund fee. It saves you the embarrassment an inadvertent overdrawn check can cause and protects your credit rating.

A $28 Courtesy Pay fee is assessed for each item that draws your account negative. You then have up to 30 days to bring the account positive, either through a direct deposit, transfer of funds, or a deposit at one of our branches in order to retain Courtesy Pay on your account.

Courtesy Pay can be a helpful service in an emergency. We do recommend that you speak with a credit union representative about other, less expensive overdraft protection programs we offer. These additional programs include free transfers from your savings account and our Cash Reserve line of credit account.
